Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2012
Shalom! The ndoros newsletter!
As we celebrate the incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ, may we share the love, joy and peace we have in and through Him with those around us. In loving we set free and are set free.
We are very grateful to God for the time of rest we had from October 17 to November 17. At some point, Phillip wanted to postpone it to December. Looking back, he is glad he did not do that. He did not realize that he was that tired until he got away. Yes! We rested, played and had wonderful family time such as we had never had in almost two years of being in Chimalhuacan. What is more exciting is the bout of life with which we returned into the community. Phillip and Beauty got back to work revived and filled with joy. After a month away from school, the children were excited to be back in school. We are so grateful to God that in that month we managed to keep them abreast with their studies, so their getting back into mainstream school life was not frustrating for them.
As a family we are grateful to you for making this time of rest possible.
Ministry:
The past month has been busy for us, after having been away from the community for a month. Beauty had an opportunity to attend a Trainer of Trainers seminar soon after getting back and has begun to put together plans for multiplying the women’s recovery groups. She also had an opportunity to go and minister at a ladies conference. As a result, she will be starting a recovery group with the church that invited her for the conference early next year.
After getting back from the break, Phillip started working on strengthening the house church planting process. Of great encouragement, was getting back to find out that some of the community people had begun to take responsibility of the work. Maribel and Isidro, servant leaders within Comunidades de Shalom, remind me of Priscilla and Acquilla. Maribel is the natural leader and has done a lot to motivate other members of Comunidades de Shalom to rise up and take charge of the work. We are discipling them to become house church leaders. Don Filadelfia is another upcoming leader. He is full of life and zeal. The house church that Isidro and Maribel lead is being held in his house.
We are so thankful for your prayers because Adelina and Carlos, who had somehow drifted away, have decided to get involved again and a house church has been started in their house. Both Adelina and Carlos took our 9 month long servant leaders’ course last year, we are looking forward to a healthy leadership development process with them.
Looking Ahead into 2012 (If Christ tarries)
As we go into 2012, we are filled with hope and joy as we perceive what the Lord has in-store for us as a family and ministry. Although Phillip will be involved in other aspects of ministry, he decided to make house church planting his major focus for 2012. He envisions 10 new house churches by the end of 2012. Beauty, whose love for broken women has been increasing by the day, will be concentrating on multiplying the ladies groups and equipping other ladies to take leadership of the groups.
Pray for:
Church Planting
Leadership development: This is crucial as the sustainability of our work depends on the quality of leaders we develop. In light of this, a special emphasis will be placed on identifying leaders and equipping them. Multiplication of leaders will be done through equipping servant leaders to be able to identify and disciple other leaders. (2 Timothy 2:2)
1) Evangelism: This will remain core to our ministry. We are planning to use some community projects as house churches to reach out to neighbors.
Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2012
2) Discipleship: We will emphasize the need for multiplication of disciples by encouraging our house church leaders to disciple others.
3) House church planting: Phillip would love to give this special attention. He desires to move into new grounds. We also hope to see a multiplication of house churches as churches grow and split.
4) Networks: This coming year should see Phillip beginning to make deliberate moves to network with other pastors in an effort to influence and contribute into their ministries.
5) Internet Radio preaching ministry: Every Sunday on www.padare.net at 12pm Mexican city time, and check this space for my blog radio teaching ministry.
Ladies ministry
The ladies ministries comprise of Mujeres de Shalom, which focuses and works mainly with ladies from the house churches; and Grupo Vida-Vencedoras that works with broken women going through recovery processes.
Grupo Vida-Vencedoras
1) Mentorship: As we seek to grow this ministry , it is evident that it is necessary to mentor local ladies that have gone through the recovery process to take leadership of some of the groups.
2) Multiplication: Ladies groups will be composed of 5 to 8 ladies for easy management. Outreach will be through personal invitations by the team in charge of the ladies groups.
Mujeres de Shalom
3) Intercession: Ladies intercessory groups (Women Weapons of Warfare) will be started to support the work we are doing with ladies and with the church planting arm.
4) Leadership development: Beauty is grateful to God for the committee that was put in place. Our focus in the coming year will be identifying leaders and equipping them.
5) Outreach: Using promoters, we will reach out to women through personal invitations and inner healing conferences.
We would like to invite you to consider supporting us financially in this coming year as we work at building our financial base. Over the past year, we have operated on 60% of our monthly budget.
